Weathered Gray Rubber Mulch Buffings
This rubber can be used for horse arenas, landscaping & playgrounds (NOTE: No ASTM tests for this product just yet for shock absorbency; manufacturer states 99.9% steel-free, processed through multiple magnets).

Most beneficial aspect of the weathered gray rubber is its light color which will be less heat-absorbant, and its natural wood-look.  The color runs through the rubber, it is NOT painted on the surface.

We offer a variety of products made entirely from non-toxic, shock-absorbing recycled tires.  Playground rubber mulch is more economical than wood mulch, the key advantage:  Rubber mulch doesn't decompose.  According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission, rubber playground cover has been proven to have superior shock absorbing capability, and can help reduce injuries associated with falls from playground equipment.

Playground rubber is cost effective, eliminating the need to constantly replace decaying material.  Rubber mulch is safer for our children by eliminating splinters, scraped elbows & knees.  It drains well after a rain, which reduces mud, and does not attract insects or animals.  It is less likely to compact than other loose-fill materials, and easy to install.  Help us to make a dent in our annual pile of 290 Million tires, and reduce the 200,000 playground related injuries per year in the US (79% of injuries are from falls off the equipment to the surface below).  The Impact Testing Report recommends a 6" depth for a critical height of 10ft.  This product is available for shipment anywhere in the continental USA.

U.S. Navy Divers recover tires from the ocean floor. Fort Lauderdale, Fla. June 4, 2007 - U.S. Navy

We need producer responsibility laws to resolve problems like these...In Germany, if you make a product you are responsible for the end-of-life of that product (either take it back & recycle it, environmentally dispose of it, or fund the small businesses that are using your waste to make new products).

Osborne Reef is an artificial reef off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Florida constructed of concrete jacks in a 50 feet (15 m) diameter circle.

In the 1970s, the reef was the subject of an ambitious expansion project utilizing old and discarded tires. The project ultimately failed, and the "reef" has come to be considered an environmental disaster—ultimately doing more harm than good in the coastal Florida waters.

In 2007, after several false starts, cleanup efforts began when the United States military took on the project. This cleanup exercise provides the military with a real-world training environment for their diving and recovery personnel, coupled with the benefit of helping the Florida coast without incurring significant costs to the state.
