How Recycled Newsprint Pencils are Made:
Whole newspaper sheets are rolled around a high quality No. 2 lead. A special adhesive formula is used to bind the newsprint together into a cohesive trunk as hard as wood. They sharpen easily, just like wood.
After drying, pencils are smoothed to a consistent round barrel. Newsprint images are still visible on the pencil surface. U.S. made quality ferrules and rubber erasers are attached to the pencil ends.
First the newspaper has to be cut to size so the graphite will fit the paper. Then the graphite is dipped in a glue to stick to the paper. The graphite is then rolled up in the newspaper and dried in a very hot oven for several hours. After the raw pencil is sized and shaped, it is sent to the eraser assembly for final production.
You can have up to 4 lines of text on these pencils. The quality of the imprint will depend on the quality of the artwork we receive. If you need assistance with artwork please contact our sales office and talk over your needs. There is an additional charge for cleaning up or design of artwork. The standard setup charge is $35.00. |
